Pilates vs Yoga: Is there a difference?
In the past decade or so that I’ve been involved with Pilates, I have definitely noticed that more people have actually heard of it. Back when I started my

We are offering three types of classes: Private One-on-One/Duo, Group Wall-unit, and Mat classes with the use of small equipment. In all classes we focus on improving functionality of the entire body, strengthening core muscles, improving flexibility and mobility of the spine, and preventing or recovering from an injury.
An individual pilates session is the perfect way to get the most out of pilates. In our studio, private sessions take place on pilates machines such as the reformer, chair, or cadillac, which allow for better control of movements, provide support or resistance as needed, and focus on core strength, flexibility, and stability. Each session is tailored to the specific needs and abilities of the client, making the training more effective and targeted, resulting in faster progress. Sessions last 55 minutes under the constant supervision of a certified instructor. Ideal for recovery after injuries, injury prevention, and mastering pilates technique. You can book a private session on your own, or as a duo with a friend or partner.
The Wall Unit is a specialized pilates machine attached to the wall that includes various components such as springs, straps, and bars. These elements provide both resistance and support during exercises, allowing for a broader range of movements and more precise muscle engagement. A group pilates class on the Wall Unit is a dynamic form of exercise that combines elements of a mat class with the use of the Wall Unit equipment. The Wall Unit is highly effective for full-body workouts, especially for strengthening the core, improving balance and flexibility, and supporting rehabilitation after injuries. The class lasts 50 minutes under the guidance of a certified instructor and is open to 4 participants.
A group pilates mat class is a great form of exercise that combines improving strength, flexibility, and posture in a friendly atmosphere with other participants. The class takes place on pilates mats (provided by the studio) using pilates props such as a pilates ring, weights, or towels. In our studio, the class lasts 50 minutes with a maximum of 8 participants. In a small group, the certified instructor can better monitor each participant’s technique, reducing the risk of incorrect movements and injury. Exercising in a small group is an ideal balance between personal attention and the motivation that comes from a group environment. It offers a high-quality, personalized approach along with the social benefits of working out with others.
Pilates is a multi-functional method and can be adapted to all types of bodies. It has long been used to help lower back pain, recovery from injury, or improve functionality. Pilates can offer gentle sessions based on breathing and flexibility for those who need it, or challenging full-body workouts for the more athletic. Connect your body & mind and feel yourself progress within the first 10 classes.
Owner Jana Ptaschinski spent a decade as a professional volleyball player competing in Europe. With her understanding of the body and passion to learn more and help others, she discovered Pilates.
An expat for much of her career, Jana aimed to create a studio where anyone can feel welcomed and at home; that is why she started The Pilates Room.

Marina likes the Pilates method because it helps her in everyday life. After years of yoga, in 2019 she started with classic pilates exercises using machines. Since 2023, she has been participating in the Romana’s Pilates certification program at True Pilates Prague with Jeremie Perroud. She chose the Romana’s Pilates method because it focuses on the precise execution of exercises and supports its instructors in lifelong improvement. She is currently preparing for the Advanced exams. It makes her happy to see the progress of her clients.
